My young lettuce seedling keep getting eat when i put them outside in the time. I know it is not slugs or snails as I place them on a raised tray lace with slug bait.
I hold seen some birds try to verbs them out but they seem to evacuate them once they have pulled them out verbs by the root. They systematically have their leaves "eaten" stale, and I wonder whether butterflies could be a problem, though the white cabbage butterflies have stopped coming to my garden after I get rid of my seeding pak choi.
It occur to all my lettuce seedling, a few basils and silverbeet, but not radishes, chives, or established plants.

I would influence its a virus problem, not something eating the plants.
What happen is the plants die off due to wilting and the leaves leak off when they are placed contained by the sun for a few hours. Its the sun's radiation that is extremely rigorous on a virus infected plants. Often this sort of thing is characterized as "something drinking the plants to the stems"
On seedlings of any type, start those contained by a sterile medium followed by a transplant into steamed sterile soil and sterile pots. A suitable pot to sterilize soil in is a "slow cooker" that you can buy used at the Goodwill or Salvation Army store for a couple of dollars. Simply join water to the bottom first and consequently dump in the soil. Let it steam appropriate and kill the bugs and the virus in the soil.
If you are not using a sterile surrounding substance and sterile steamed soil and sterile pots, I would identify this as your problem.
Another factor where the leaves are litteraly eat off is by soil Cut Worms. Those live contained by the soil and hide and when high temperature from the sun comes out they climb the plant and eat past its sell-by date the leaves. Again, sterilize the soil and pot and those to will be rid of.
Answers: Butterflies don't have mouth parts, so they don't EAT plants. It could be grasshoppers or beetle.
I suggest getting some clear plastic cups, poking small air holes contained by them, and covering each plant when you put them outside.
