we are moving to the york area but definatly in a 10 mile radious of the city centre. There are lots of handsome villages and towns around the A64 A1237 but i am wondering if anyone know of train lines around york, or how well the busses run into the city spotlight.
any info will be greatly appreciated.
Answers: Villiages in the York nouns that have a train service are predominantly Poppleton and Haxby. There are some smaller village out in the Harrogate direction that also enjoy small stations (they're all on the York to Harrogate train line).
If you shift out toward the villages surrounded by the Hull direction (such as Melbourne) the bus services aren't that wonderful.
I think your best areas for bus service are Huntington, Acomb, New Earswick, Haxby & Wiggington, Dringhouses. All of them are pretty well brought-up areas to live in too.
The most frequent bus service runs from the uni, but your on the complete differing side. I can't imagine you'd be waiting longer than 20mins for a bus though.
