Why do ants moved at a single stripe or trail but not at changeable or multiple trails within adjectives corners?
Answers: Ants leave a scent trail at the rear, normally a few "scout" ant will give the nest to find food leaving a scent behing to know how to grasp back, if they find something they return to the nest departing a new trail on the means of access back. when the other ants return they leave your job more scent, and all the ants follow that scent procession. thus they travel in lines.
There is however an ant species that does a moment ago randomly saunter around "crazy ant" move erraticly and rapidly surrounded by their movement not following trails as often as other ants.

It turns out that when ants find food, they secrete an invisible chemical call "trail pheromone" as they return to the next. This trail lead directly from the nest to the food source. Other worker ants then follow the trail right to the food. Each worker consequently reinforces the trail on the way put a bet on. When all the food is gone, the workers no longer bury trail pheromone and eventually the trail fades away.
