Answers: You will need to know a couple of things to integer this out. Pellet stoves generally enjoy different heat settings. Mine have 5 and each one is 7000 BTU I across the world run mine at 2 or 3 to heat a room, not the in one piece house. You can find the cost of the pellets locally, and the owner's booklet, which you should be able to look at beforehand purchase will tell you how much a sack of pellets will final at a certain fry setting. I can get a light of day from a bag on 3 and for a moment longer on 2. This will give you the numbers you want to calculate how much you spend per light of day on pellets but you will own to guess somewhat on what setting you will have the stove on.
Wood depends on what you find, hard wood versus softwood and how much you are paying per cord. Of course nearby are tricks to know on cords too. Is it a face cord or a full cord and thorny or soft wood. This you can determine by calling around. It is possible to know the BTUs per cord of wood depending on the type (look it up on internet) and you can compare the wood versus pellets. The foundation you have to do this is because fire wood cost depends greatly on where on earth you live and the cost of running the pellet stove will depend on how much heat you require of it.
One other entity to think of that have nothing to do near cost. The pellet stove requires power. If you are prone to power outages, get wood regardless of cost. The pellet stove won't be worth spit contained by a power outage.
