We bought a house recently and moved contained by 6-7 weeks ago, the boiler has broken down and we've be told we need a different one as it can't be repaired. We were told it could cost anything between lb1000-lb2000...money we don't enjoy.
So I was wondering, how long are the previous owners liable for things approaching the central heating/boiler? Or am I clutching at straws here, will I call for to pay for it myself?
I'm surrounded by Scotland by the way.
Answers: im afraid its in a minute your responsibility. you should have remunerated for someone to go surrounded by and check all that out until that time signing the contract.
they are not as far as i'm aware, unless you can prove it was gone down when they lived there and did not notify you when you bought the house.
