What would come up if you forgot to switch an iron stale and disappeared it running for overnight? Would it start a fire?

Would it start a fire?
Answers:    Leaving an iron on definately increases the chances of starting a fire! The iron would own to be knocked over or touching something flamable though - close to a shirt.

I've accidentally left an iron on adjectives day. My house didn't burn down, but I be scared ample to buy an iron that automatically turns itself off (I hold a cat and two dogs - YIKES!).

Also, an iron uses about equal electricity as 20 lights being gone on.
Only if it was knock over on a higher warmth. I left one on surrounded by the spare room for a few days, all i notice was that room be a little stove when i went contained by, which was nice because it be cold that night
