Answers:    From personal observation, I'd influence fire ants are scavengers and give a hand clean up the insensible things like other bugs and small animals. Love bugs come across to be little more than food for other critters like birds and frogs; and as you would expect parents to baby love bugs.

But when I'm self bitten by fire ants or cleaning hoards of squished love bugs off my saloon, I do wonder if nature made a mistake. :)
