I'm curious as to what everyone keeps surrounded by their emergency kits at home? If you live surrounded by the mid-west, you know that last hours of darkness there be some awful storms. I live in Indiana and the storms be pretty bad here. I found myself beside very few candles, a missing lighter, and no flashlight. I be informed that it is likely within will be more storms like this soon so I want to be more prepared.
I do hold a Zune which has radio fitness as well as a few movies on it. I also own a lap-top but the battery doesn't later too terribly long [an hour and 1/2 perchance. It's pretty old]
Answers: An emergency generator and enough fuel to run it for a few hours or conceivably a week (the more rural the longer you'll need) an emergency radio no batteries foot crank or solar powered. 5 to 10 gallons of fresh water. A LP cooking stove for boiling marine and cooking. 2 to 4 flashlights some with battery some with self generator, Band aids, aspirin, rubbing alcohol, (drinking alcohol - not really), 2 small radios to communicate with and extra battery for them, A dry type fire extinguisher, A way to sharpen knife, tying cord and a tarp. Bullets for my rifle, pistol, and shells for shotgun. a way to cook food within the freezer first. All this and a box of rocks located within walking distance of the house. Not adjectives in one place result in if hit in that place what obedient would it do me then?
