What do you do to prevent smelly junk can? I rinse out cans earlier I toss them, put smellier stuff in...

I rinse out cans earlier I toss them, put smellier stuff in plastic lots, and put baking soda in the can. However, I've never found baking soda (nor kitty litter) that successful in reducing the smell. My mother heaps and freezes stuff that could be stinky, then puts them contained by the trash the night past garbage pick up.

What do you do to prevent odors? What tips do you enjoy, what products do you use?

Answers:    I put arm and hammer runner fresh in the bottom of the can beside each current bag and i sprinkle some within the bottom of the bag
