Nope YOu Have To change your mattress and FAST. sleep on the couch
it's really important to vary your sheets/pillow covers at least once a week.. you're right-- there are bound to be mites within everyone's beds but if you are especially paranoid about them i contemplate changing sheets is the most practical thing to do since buying a clean mattress every few months isnt so appealing... good luck! =) On today tonight, there be a segment on how to remove dust mite/ bed mites, and they suggested a cleaning service, you might want to check their website.

You can vacuume you mattress weekly, exchange sheets once a week, and protect the mattress with a rubber backed mattress protector.
There is really no road of getting rid of mites. They live every where we do.
Try moth balls between the box spring and mattress. Also the vaccumm Kirby is supposed to be so powerful to suck them out of the mattress. The cost of one of those might be the same as a clean mattress but it pays for itself if you keep buying mattresses Here's what you CAN do:

Every 3 to 6 months, take your mattress outside for a dusting. Get someone to serve you carry the mattress. Then, heavily slap it to shake off those bed mites. This will destroy many of them.
get a kirby vacuum cleaner, the are real well brought-up at vacuuming out bed mites and bed dust. spray your matteress with disinfectant?

Dust mites don't like mortal steam cleaned. Steam clean those areas in your home where on earth you have apoholstery and a lot of human traffic. The steam cleaning will butcher some of the mites and does a more thorough job of picking up particles of dust.
