Does have any accepted wisdom for strange or unusual bonsai? Alternatively, any links to galleries of such? I've already hear the Cannabis bonsai idea (or reality), so that one's out. Any others?

Answers:    Since ANY species of a plant can be made into a bonsai, you can use your imagination. One of the weirdest bonsai I enjoy seen is a southern magnolia. The aim is that the leaves are very roomy, and it is difficult to imagine it as a 'miniature.' You may want to look at the an assortment of bonsai on my site:
