I just love these walls, but can't deside which to build on my lot. It's going to be a175 foot wall.
My question is, which is the cheaps to build? and easiest to build? by experience. I a moment ago need a snatched estimation.
if it be me i would lay up a 10 in. block wall and veneer it near stone...you could have someone lay the block and do the stonework yourself at your own pastime...just blocks looks close to crap and all stone is more costly
Cheapest & easiest is cinder blocks.
Stone will look the best.
Either one will need supporting stakes prior to work.
For 'stone' check beside Grave Marker builders for broken left over pieces to be purchased. Also, check for slate styled pieces that can be purchased from brick/stone stores or excess broken pieces at Home Depot, Menard's, Lowes, etc... You can collect various stones/slates to put into a cement form and use poured cement
Answers: Cinder block- cheaper and easier, everything matches up.
Stone - more expensive, doesn't other match up, tack hammer will fix that, looks 100 times better.
Just my 2 cents.
