I'd like to buy a crumb mill from the US but need to know whether it will work here within the UK.
Here are it's specifications:
Voltage 110-120V, 10A, 50/60 Hz
Watts 1400 Watts Max
Can anyone tell me whether this will work surrounded by the UK if I just use a regular plug converter? Or is here any other way I can manufacture it work to it's full potential? Thanks

I lived surrounded by Wales for 3 years and most the US devices that we had required a converter. Certain devices we didn't use even near the converter (turntalbles one example) where electric motor speed would be artificial.
I doubt that it changed but we had 220v 13amp, 50 hz DC service. The US device will use AC current. The converter is used to convert the outlet DC current to AC current for the device. It should step the amps down and the voltage as powerfully. England that requires the converter. The one thing the cheap converts would not do is increase the hertz to 60 cycle. It a short time ago causes the electric motors to run for a time slower.
So you'll need a step down transformer that converts DC power to AC. I know they're made but you'll want to find someone in your nouns that carries them. Good luck.
I don't hold the answer, but the following link from "Walkabout Travel Gear CA/US might.
Cheers

Answers: no it wont work without putting it through a transformer first ..transformers are substantial and not cheap ..i have no belief what a grain mill is or its cost but a tranny is something like lb50 for a cheap one and if your a lady you would not approaching to carry one !
You will call for to convert the UK 240V to US 110V, it will be cheaper to buy a new gadget within the UK rather than jiggle with converters etc.
Most UK building sites use 110V for sanctuary reasons so you will be capable of buy a transformer to do this from any good building supplies shop. Then adjectives you will need to do is rework the plug.
