1- Is there any tried-and-try method to put in the picture whether a cactus is dead or not? Right in a minute I have 6 cactuses, and potentially 4 of them are unresponsive. (I think they are comatose because their bristles aren't as rigid as the 1 which I think is alive.)

(They might not be limp.) I'm not sure if I overwatered them, or whether it's too cold where they are, or if they're not getting plenty sunlight. Which leads to press #2.

2- I live in a residence, beside only 1 glass. If I leave the cactuses near, they will get some sunlight and fresh nouns, but it's very cold and I don't reckon they'd survive. Right presently they're living under two compact fluorescent lamp, as far away from the window/cold as possible. I can't really afford to go out and buy a complete plant light, but is in that some kind-of lightbulb I could get to simulate heat/sunlight?
Answers:    If the body of the cactus plant is brown and dried up, it's adjectives over. Give the barrel cut of the cactus a poke. If it is soft, you've got a problem, If it is crunchy, they are beyond hope, and if they come across solid and firm, things are okay.

Generally, it's better to underwater cacti than to over water them. If they catch a little wrinkley, they want water. If you simply cannot resist watering them weekly or so, do it beside a spritz bottle so as to give a second-rate amount of water respectively time.

Cacti in outlook live in the desert, which is completely cold at night and tremendously hot during the day, so your cacti can give somebody a lift temperature extremes. Sunlight is another issue. They resembling light. They do not necessarily own to live in full sunlight (many cacti grow surrounded by the shadows of larger cacti) but they do like at least possible bright indirect light. Most bulbs are in short supply. Move your cacti back to the pane, but put the plant, pot and all, inside another clear-sided container, similar to a jar or a terrarium. That will insulate them from drafts and create a protected environment. Leave the lid or cover off the container so as not to create a moist, greenhouse effect.
you can receive a heat light from B&Q for under lb5.

and the plural is cacti not catuses
