Get a rat trap. If you seize the kind that you enjoy to bait (spring type) use bait they can't walk away next to (like cheese)--use something sticky like peanut butter. If there's no pets or kids use poison. Bait around the fridge and beneath sinks. You could also get a cat.
If you hold rats the size of the ones we had within Egypt then saddle it up and dance for a ride. :-)

Or, if you don't want him surrounded by the kitchen then draw from one of those high pitched devices you plug surrounded by, they keep rats, mice cockroaches, woodlice etc out of the house.
Now, if it's a human rat. . . . capably just see him to the gutter and get a better one. x
