I need to acquire up into my loft.
My house is a former Council house built 1940s.
Is it likely that at hand will be any plain boards ABOVE the main joist / celing plaster board? I don't want to press directly on any ceiling bedroom plaster boards in skin this causes cracks surrounded by the plaster.

Answers: No.. unless someone has be there previously you, the ceiling was created by nail stripping directly to the stringers of the rafters and plastering over the stripping, surrounded by a 2 coat process. You can go into the loft and place boards across the rafter to walk on. If you want to safe and sound the boards into position use drywall screws...Do Not staple them in place as the hammering may loosen the plaster.
