Presumably that means I can do one and the same with my feather/down duvet?
Not sure if I hold dust mites but I am just taking precautions cos I itch at darkness
Will it help? It might, but dust mites are with the sole purpose part of the problem. It's the thousands of fecal pelllets respectively one expells daily that result in most allergies. You must wash your bedding and pillows regularly to get rid of this problem.
I have a feather/down comforter and I wipe it in the wash machine and I dry it contained by the dryer. It is king size and I do have a generous capacity washer/dryer, but it works and it works in good health.
And yes, the dryer will kill mites and other things within the pillows or duvet. You might want to run it longer than 10 minutes to be sure. I put my pillows in the dryer every week freshly for this and to fluff them.
Also, vacuum the bed.
Answers: Wash them and dry them to assure the mites are gone. Throw a tennis ball contained by the dryer to fluff the down. It works great!
