We will be purchasing a high wrapping up mattress and box spring set. The company offers a "10 year mattress protection plan + electrical device washable allergy protective cover" for $100. Is this worth it? Under what circumstances would anyone employ a mattress protection plan?

If it is a high finale mattress it should come with a warranty. In rider, there is abundantly of fine print to a mattress warranty.

The protective cover? You are going to have a mattress wad and bedding, right? Unless you are incontinent the mattress should be well protected.

Unless you own messy kids, or are really horrible to your mattress, I guess that's when you should get it.
I've have the same cheap mattress for roughly speaking four years now. I turn it regularly to wear it evenly on both sides.
It's kept incredibly resourcefully to my surprise for such a cheap-o mattress.
