I'm not sure, I called a company that said that I should and another company told me that the tempreatures are not that cold here to winterize the system (blow ater off)
Answers: I've be an irrigation specialist for almost 4 years in Michigan where on earth everthing needs to be winterized. But surrounded by your case I would recommend at lowest draining the water from your Backflow preventer, Vacuum Breaker, Anti syphon Valve...or doesn`t matter what you want to call it. The above ground exposed pipe full of wet can crack or burst. If it is copper, it can be expensive to fix. Turn the water stale to the sprinklers from inside. If it has a spicket on the bottom vacate it open adjectives winter. If not, drain it from the inside. Either way, depart from the test cocks spread out. Hope this helps, but it depends what quality of backflow unit you own.
You can have occassional sharp cold spells that will freeze above-ground pipes, hoses, and faucets, but buried or indoor lines should be fine. I other cover our outdoor faucets.
