The ground does angle about 10 - 15 degree and I will be using slag to create a base for a adjectives concrete or asphalt driveway. I live near Pittsburgh,pa. I thought I remember reading give or take a few having to remove the growing grass and conceivably a bit of the underlying topsoil, due to them causing a slippage problem beside the stones. I will either use 3B or a 2b - 1b mix.
Answers: if you are putting within a driveway. you need a small backhoe or skidsteer to remove adjectives the grass and dig down to a right solid base,,, approaching a clay or pitrun mix.. (sand and stone) a good 3-12 inches open... BE SURE TO CALL YOUR LOCAL DIGGERS HOTLINE to mark any and adjectives buried lines (gas and electric) in that nouns at least 3 days in the past digging. then after you are done add on a good gravel mix .. biddable luck
I'm doing something similar and I was told to remove adjectives of the grass and topsoil--down to mineral soil otherwise weeds will grow through doesn`t matter what you put on top and it will be harder to pack it down. I'm going to use the front end loader on my tractor to do the work.
