So we rented a house. The pilot light be our on the burners on the stove, so the landlord lite them, but it still smells approaching gas in in attendance 2 days later? is that commonplace or what??????

Answers:    the pilot light may own blown out. It sounds like an hoary stove as most stoves now own electronic igniters...and no pilot light. also the supply splash bringing gas to the stove may be leaking....the local utility company/gas supplier will check it for free. be out of danger, have it checked.

No. Need to check the oven also. Then check the connections surrounded by back, and up underneath the top. Use some soapy water around connections and see if they bubble.
