We are looking at buying a double wide and be looking for any suggestion on brands, what to look for in a home and tips on negotiate prices. Like how much you could get the price down?
Answers: If I be you I would look into a different kind of home. My husband and I and also my son purchased manufactured homes and the workmanship and materials used to build are a moment ago ..to put it plainly...JUNK. We now own built a stick built home and my son is still dealing with unpromising plumbing, kitchen cabinets falling apart( look at the cabinet..most are just glue and stapled together.) cheap windows, scraggy drywall, insufficient insulation, the list go on and on. Look closely at the homes when you shop ....the toilets are undersized and sometimes the back container is PLASTIC, sinks and tubs are not the usual size so if you ever need to replace anything you will own a hard time finding the correct size. Take a cover plate sour the electrical boxes and look at them...most are not anchored to a stud..just stuck into the drywall...cheap floor coverings that will not ultimate 2 to 3 years...One problem we really did have a problem near is that the roof wasn't vented..within the summer the roof would heat up so much that it would be paid the furnace kick on.I would really consider a different type of home..sorry
Fleetwood is a well brought-up brand of mobile home as well as tanglewood....Definately do not catch one with popcorn ceiling..
Here you can find a local dealer ..simply click on "find a sale location" at the bottom of the page on this link.. I enjoy actually worked at a Fleetwood industrial plant years ago in Sulpher Springs,Texas and did progress a few steps beyond other manufacturers
