Under UK building reg's, how far must a wood burning stove be from the nearest surrounding walls (the surrounding wall's are brick built). I need to position a stove at in the order of 100mm from the wall - will this comply?
Answers: Mfg's have different specs. I own a wood burning stove (made in Reno NV) that is to say zero clearance. So shop a mixture of mfg. b/4 you buy.
Are the bricks fire retardant? If not there are a few products on the market that you can use on them. Ventilation around the element helps manners. We had one surrounded by my mom's basement and the piping have to be at least 12" from the exit pipe contained by the wall. Your local fire department may be able to oblige. They are nice in the winter, delight in.
