I have a plug from a tumble dryer contained by my kitchen which gets 'warm' when it is plugged within and the appliance turned on. The metal contacts are quite blackened by not fully.
Is the plug burning within the socket?
Doesnt doesnt happen near any other appliance only, this plug... so im sure it isnt the wallsocket.
Answers: I don`t know it has something to do next to the fuse?
Fuses are in your plug and after heat up and soften when the power is too strong and dangerous.. kinda resembling trip switches which are more common
possibly your fuse has oh say aloud 13amp max when it should be 3amp
i might be mixing amps with volts from i can remember its amps though..
when a plug does not produce a good contact next to a receptacle for what ever reason.. that plug will start to burn and this is due to arcing.. it can be dangerous because surrounded by time the cord itself will begin to burn and could in actual fact catch smouldering.. so you need to hold the end of the cord ... the plug.. replaced. and probably the receptacle as okay because even though you cant see it its just as burned as the plug..
