There is no spoiled food and it is clean. Please don't make clear to me what to use to get rid of the smell. I purely want to know what is causing the smell so I can fix it.
Answers:    It might be a freon soak.
I really don't know how to check that though.
I think near is a spray that highlights it, like mechanics do on cars.
On the other mitt, I don't know if freon even has an odor. Could be fried wires???
Ask at a auto chunk store.

Baking Soda should help beside the smell. If this is a new fridge, that smell is average until the fridge runs for a while. You are smelling the lubricants for the motor and all the topical plastics inside.
