sprayed for termites last year. I read that if it is a carpenter ant that they don't "eat" the wood, but they live contained by rotted or decaying wood. Should I call an exterminator only just incase?
Answers:    If you can see a lot of tunnels contained by the decaying wood maybe you hold termites or carpenter ants. However red ants are not carpenter ants. C. ants are black. Where did they spray for termites? Near the house or near the tree? If they sprayed close to the tree it shouldn't be termites either. If they sprayed close at hand the house and the tree is away from the house the spray would probably have no effect on the termites within a tree. Most termite sprays usually stay where you put it so if it be sprayed near the house that's where on earth it's going to stay.
