I'll try to keep this short: I'm within Iowa, and for the past 3 weeks me nor any of the the residents within our building have have heat. I've call and told the landlord a bunch of times to complain, along next to other residents, and nothing have been done almost it. My landlord keep saying that we stipulation new boilers but they steal awhile to come in, because he have to order them......I meditate he's feeding me a bunch of bullsh*t, (he's a slum tenant to add) and I'm not the type of person to do something resembling call the police, but I'm freezing my *** past its sell-by date right now and am pissed as hell knowing I won't return with any sleep tonight because it's like an icebox contained by here....what should I do?
Check your rental agreement. Make sure that you own all of the date correct as to when there be no heat. If in that is something in the agreement that say that he has to fix these things and you own given him a reasonable amount of time, I'm sure that you can embezzle him to small claims over that. I don't think that you should enjoy to pay rent for living surrounded by a place like that. Or, if he breached your contract, you should know how to move out and get subsidise your security deposit minus any problem, you may have to dance to small claims to get it though. I would form a group all the race in my building and start raise hell until it is fixed. Your landlord should know how to go to freakin Home Depot or Lowes and obtain a heater asap. I contemplate he is just delay since he prolly spent all the rent money...

It would be perfectly fine for you to take off some money from his rent check, probably about 200/month if boil is included and 100 if it's not. Check the tenants rights for Iowa, but within New York, no heat is not kosher.

When we first moved into our apartment, we didn't enjoy a fridge or stove for the first few days so we kept a few bucks off the rent to clear for eating out.
Answers:    File a claim. It is your right as a tenant to have heat. the temp. in your apt should be at lowest 60F
Go to the police.
