Just tilled like a 15 by 10 size garden but haven't planted anything however, some suggestions please. I'm wanting things I can eat though, no flowers.
Answers:    It is dependant on your climate, but tomatoes, potatoes, silver beet are adjectives good staples. You may find that companion planting next to marigolds and nasturtiums will keep the pests away...
Start beside 2 tomato plants, assuming you like tomatos, and I don`t know 2 squash plants. Start small and get a bit bigger each year. A few small successes will stir up you to experiment further. Allow yourself plenty of room between plants. Link to your county's extension agent site if you have one. Learn precipitate about making compost and sustainable gardening technique. You have to confer back to your soil if you want to do this for an extended spell of time. Try some onions also. They're pretty easy to grow, and, if you sautee (sp?) those three ingredients surrounded by some real butter, oh man! You'll drink like a king! As you grow more confident, consider an herb garden. It is all right worth the effort. Good luck!! I also recommend starting an asparagus bed and growing radishes. They come contained by early and will ignite you to make the crack to put in the rest of the garden. The hardest portion is waiting for the first harvest! Plant a few flowers around the edges of your plot to attract bees.
