Air conditioners use electricity and depending on where on earth you live your electricity could be nuclear, coal, etc, which cause pollutants, but so does anything you plug into the wall.

save for that the AC is just fine. The out-of-date ones had Freon (or CFC¡¯s) surrounded by them ¨C but that was a long long time ago¡­.
