Answers:    The cheapest way is to dilute tea near the water and next soak it in it. I did this to a sheer curtain and it looks fine immediately. I am not sure with other materials though...

Check what the yard goods content is first as sometimes the thread they use to stitch the curtains will not take the colour. You could pause up not only near the sticthing the original colour but if here is a self pattern contained by the fabric it may show up too much and look horrid.
