I didnt know any better at the time,I bought a water sealer,but Im not sure if this is obedient enough.
The one and only thing that crop up is that the wood will weather and then eventually contained by ten years or more it will have to be replaced. Hardly accurate enough reason to replace it now, so purely wait and replace it contained by ten years! Save a few trees that way.
It you paint them near a good grease based paint they won't rot. Or if they do, that mode you missed something.
Water sealer will slow down the weather damage. Don't bother replacing them for a few years. Do formulate certain that none of the boards hold a way to enjoy small pools of water on them or that they sit surrounded by. That will damage them faster than anything.
