i just bought two moth orchids. i notice the pot they came surrounded by is kinda small and the roots seem to be crammed and it come with deeply of moss in it. as a rule i would repot a flower if it needs a bigger pot but human being that orchids are more delicate i entail to know if i even need to repot them.. both of them are blooming and hold buds. my question is when, and if, i should repot the orchids.

Answers: Orchids are what are known as epiphytic plants. This method they live on a host (a tree) and do not root in any soil. They grow contained by crevices between branches where river, leaves and moss accumulate. This is adjectives they need to survive. They are sold surrounded by pots with not much more than yelp chip in for this intention and this is also why they are very rootbound. If you pot them up other and look after them you will be very unlikely to get hold of any flowers, just soft, lush, green growth as they will consistency there is no want to reproduce as they are under no threat of just round the corner death! Growers commonly have orchids crawling along benches beside roots dangling down all over the place. Orchids intrinsically creep along a branch rooting wherever is possible as they progress.
Pot them up once they finish flowering into bark chip (not woodchip) or buy an orchid compost. Pot up basically slightly bigger than they are now and marine with rainwater whenever possible. If you can find some moss to top the pot adjectives the better but they will live without. It is a short time ago used to immitate their natural growing conditions as much as possible. For alike reason do not position within full sunlight.
Read up on what exactly moth orchids require as far as cutting or not adjectives the flower stem off totally and whether they want a period of cold chill to manufacture them flower again next year. Some orchids do some don't.
