I am moving in the subsequent few weeks to a bigger rented property. The only problem is person the council they are not great on providing kitchen units! The solitary units contained by there are the battered white bizarre council ones that the previous tenant was using.
My problem is that I the kitchen I enjoy now be newly fitted and I hold these units (cant help yourself to them!) filled to the brim near utentils, pots and pans! I dont know how I am going to fit adjectives I have into the battered kitchen I am inheriting. Or how I will cope next to the terrible layout of the kitchen as it is.
I am also losing central work surface space with no sideboard one next to the cooker. It will be inconveniant running from one side of the kitchen to the other near a hot pans!
The problem is that I wont enjoy much budget at all to spend on any alien kitchen units and besides I hold been promised they will be upgraded in the next two years.
What can I do CHEAPLY within the meantime to solve the problem of lack of unit and worksurface?
Answers: You could get a trolley on wheel to give you extra space and you can move it where you need it. You can find metal baskets that clip under shelves to pass you extra space and you can also get metal stackers that supply you an extra shelf in a cupboard or on a work top. There are tub stackers on which you can put all your saucepans and stand it contained by a corner. Have a look round in a department store contained by the kitchen section and bring back a few ideas.
procure some old housebricks and some planks of wood (old scaffolding planks are good). Try your local tip, you would be surprised
Put three housebricks resting on one another at either pause of the plank of wood length, then lay the plank on top, put another 3 housebricks surrounded by line next to the others and lay another plank on top. You have of late made two big shelves. They will be ideal to store pots and pan. You could use wicker baskets to enjoy like a drawer effect.
