My room is getting out of control next to letters/bills / statements etc. I am a bit of a hoarder, and tend to keep adjectives of these things.

What is a reasonable length of time to preserve them for, and I shall have a clear out today.

I realise that at hand are some things you have to save - i.e. car insurance docs/v5 etc, but I'm conversation about the other things - i.e. phone bills etc.

What a virtuous way to spend my daytime off lol.
Answers:    I reflect that you have to preserve them for 5 years.
Keep everything for 5 years. Advised time is 7 years.
Every year, take an afternoon sour with a friend/family partaker to "record and toss". It's ably worth it. The other person sits at a computer beside you to scrap down various nearest and dearest "facts, events and interesting tidbits" that you may call out as you look at a piece of dissertation, then toss it onto a waste pile in middle of room. When you're done, both of you own to shred the stuff. Then take your PA out to Dairy Queen to celebrate.
