I've brought an interesting old bench into the house that I would like to attempt to restore. However I suspect it may enjoy or may have have woodworm as I can see small groups of tiny holes in places. How great is the exposure of the woodworm spreading to my own furniture? Should I perhaps isolate the stool or get rid promptly?
Answers:    Treat it.
There are many proprietary treatments on the flea market for woodworm (beetles and larvae)

You must treat the chair since any live woodworm moves on to pastures exotic!

I have a building that be made in 1793 and it have many oak beam which have signs of woodworm,i treat it every 3 years or so.You can other miss a bit ! or get reinfection !
