Some of my shoes simply fell apart when I wore them . I keep them surrounded by a shoe rack inside our hallway closet where on earth it is hot and humid. Our home does not have inner airconditioning.

First, move the shoe rack. Second, wear your shoes every other afternoon, not day after daylight. They need time to dry out between wearings to prevent fungus and mold and athlete's foot from developing.
If your foot, or shoes have a foul odor, you hold athlete's foot and need to instigate treating your feet and allowing your shoes time to dry out.
If you hold a gas oven, you can dry your shoes overnight in at hand, but be sure to make sure that not a soul will turn it on.
Answers: There is this product available at Home Depot that captures humidity, they're call "Dehumidifier Bags". My family puts them contained by our vitamin cupboard, we live in Florida.
