Many years ago have a rental property which had roaches setting up housekeeping. I used foggers, more foggers every 3 days thinking it would destroy hatchlings. Tried various products of roach sprays and finally hired an exterminator. Keep the roach population down, but still have them in the house. I be beginning to construe these were 'mutant' roaches and immune to anything I tossed at them. A friend living contained by Louisiana told me about Bengal spray and thought, "why not, everything I tried failed". This worked and short an offensive odor.

Boric tart (found in Borax) will also destroy roaches, but they have to attain into it (don't use around pets or small children); this will take going on for 3 months with this method.
