My Neighbours are fine and I can't hear them, but I signed a 6 month lease in a underground store suite and last darkness was my first hours of darkness sleeping here. Well, there are such loud creaks and bang and I think it is from a room contained by the basement that say Machinery Room. It sounds like somebody is hitting the walls, pounding the floor upstairs and creaking their bed every second but the apartment upstairs is abandoned so it must be the heater and the nouns traveling or the pipes. I even bought earplugs and could only acquire 4 hours of sleep and I am nine months pregnant so I need more!
What can I do? I signed a lease so I am pretty much stuck here but I can't even lay within bed it is so noisy. I hold a feeling the ladies at the rental department won't even do anything. :(
Answers: It sounds like it is the heat system,
steam traveling in the pipes create the
sound you describe.
In some states, crypt apartments
are illegal.Ask the town zoning dpt.
how plentiful units the building should be
if it is forbidden, you are out of your lease.

I would first try conversation to them to see if you can figure out what the din may be. But if it's the building there's not much you could do about the jingle. There may be some type of law depending on what state you live within that would permit you to break a lease near a noitce of course, if your apartment is unhabitable. And ceaseless noise is unhabitable. Everyone have the right to live in peace. If the complex won't do anything contact your local housing athority and she what your option are. You don't need to live beside such a problem. Goodluck
