i am looking for easy ways to stop the cold from coming into my windows within the winter i usually stapley blankets over the windows as it is very affective . how ever i would approaching do something just as effective next to out all the staples as they are a hassle to remove any tips would be helpful .

You can buy plastic sheeting at the harware store to cover your windows that seals to the glass frame using a blow dryer. Its fairly easy to install, is bare enough you can still see through it and it keeps out the drafts.

How old-fashioned are your windows? Maybe they need replacing. You should find doubled glazed windows. They reduce condensation and trap the grill in your home, reducing energy costs.

If you cant afford up to date windows, I suggest putting silicon along the lining of the window, cementing any cracks and keeping them open during the sunshine to ventalate the room.

Dont use staples. They will mark your property and reduce its helpfulness. Get a cheap curtain rod, or ask friends for old ones, look in skips, restore shops, etc.

Answers:    Get thermal glass treatements. They keep the heat out contained by the summer and cold in the winter. They are just as significant as blankets but they won't look bad when they are up. You would use a curtain rod so you won't have to verbs about staples. Try Bed Bath and Beyond or somewhere like that.
