Can someone help identify a berry plant we saw? The fruit looked like a blackberry or boysenberry. However, it be not growing on a plant like a raspberry. The plant was nearly 10 foot high, and comprised of a group of three or four small trunks about the diameter of one's forearm or upper arm. About partly the pieces fo fruit were black/dark purple and the other half red (but I imagine those weren't ripe yet).
There were no prickly bars similar to other berry bushes.
Mullberry
A Mullberry tree. The berries are edible. Birds love them, but deplorably the bird poop stains concrete walks & patios. First answer is right. It's a mulberry. Check out the relationship.
Answers: Sounds to me like a mulberry.
