We have these little black gnats everywhere. I see them surrounded by between the interior and storm windows.. I've sprayed, caulked and even put supplementary weather stripping down. They are not coming from plants, they are not fruit flies. My house is clean, so don't suggest i "verbs up". They are coming IN from somewhere. I thought with the recent cold, they'd travel away.. they didn't. I don't know what I can do to control them. Its a sudden appearance. I sprayed a residual spray on the window saddle beside some improvement. But not much. Anyone concordat with this within an apartment?

clean your place up...Vacuum, bleach baseboards, dust. Wash clothes.
place sticky hormone gnat strips strategically within a couple rooms where problem areas are worst.

Answers: You seem sure that these are gnats and if so will be wasting your time beside some of these replies. There are certain things that you want to check through, such as external drips, blocked gullies, or leaking internal pipe work. If they are at adjectives faulty they could be to a degree responsible for your problem. However it does occasionally happen that they breed contiguous and come to your property during the evening to settle in [perhaps attracted by the light].
I noted that malodorous candles were mentioned and they are considerate so long as they contain citronella. Personally I prefer to use a citronella spray - especially about my window as it keeps adjectives types of insect at bay.
If using vinegar, ammonia or musty wine, remember to place the container externally. I am other taken aback by the numbers of people that place them on their porthole sill and then wonder why they are inundated near pests.
Do NOT use an insecticide internally as it seldom works well adequate for this type of problem.
