I want to grow edible sprouts resembling soybean, broccoli, etc. I've looked at a few websites on how to grow them (in soil, not water) and of course they adjectives sell seed. They claim you can't just use any infirm seed. You must use their natural seeds. They're expensive! Do I really hold to have these "special" seed or can I use my own packets?
Thanks
Answers: You can use your own packet so long as they haven't been treated next to chemicals. Some seeds expected for planting have be coated with anti-fungals or fertilizers or pesticides to protect the seed as they germinate. The package should give an account you if the seeds you're thinking of using hold been so treated.
It is possible to buy sprouting seed in bulk at most vigour food stores. They're less expensive that course and there are some wonderful variety of sprouting seeds!
you can use your own seed! I used mung beans in hose down with broadsheet towels, and in a week I have sprouts!
