I just bought a pineapple from the store and I've be told that if I cut off the top and plant it, a pineapple plant will grow. My examine is, how much sunlight does the plant need? What characteristics of potting soil should I get? Is this an indoor or outdoor plant? I live surrounded by Jax. Fl. so we get plenty of sun here and our climate is mostly melt and humid, thought it does get small freezes surrounded by the winter. Please tell me anything you know going on for growing a pineapple plant.

I don't know much give or take a few pineapple trees but i do know they are outdoor plants, you can use Super Soil brand soil, and you should prevent it from those frosts you were discussion about. Pineapples are a tropical fruit so as long as it is contained by warmth you should be fine.
