A few years ago, i went beside a friend to the national park, and ripped out a plant, and put it in his garden. The other sunshine, someone asked him where he get the tree from. He said from the local nursery. Is that a good excuse?

Heres the follow up: that guy say he regularly visits that nursery, and pays special attention to these plants, and know that no plant there have the same trunk shape as this one. He asked how much did it cost. My friends give a rough value.
Next minute, afterwards man says, do you know getting plants from the bush is improper? My friend said he didn't get it from the bush.

Help! What to influence?
I can also get contained by trouble
btw..im in college..so dont want any trouble now.
Answers:    The simple answer is you go to local nursery asked for this particular plant. They said they didn't stock it but could buy it within from another nursery, so they did , but of course you don't know which one
If a client asks for a plant they don't stock most nursery s buy it within from one who does
I work in a nursery and we are other buying in plants for client, plants that we don't usually stock or grow ourselves

Sounds like this individual is a Legend in His own mind and if he requests to pursue it , He has to prove it and it probably wont be worth his while, He is trying to be impressive, IE an Ar*ehole
Your friend should tell that nosey guy to mind his own business. It's of late a tree!
