Answers:    This is a very broad topic and would give somebody a lift much more space that you have here. Also local factor can play a huge role. There are lots of very streamlined systems for reducing power usage. What is the limiting factor is installation cost. We are building a LEED (very energy efficient) resort contained by the Napa Valley right now. The cost is powerfully over $2,000 per sq ft. Normal lodging can be built around here for around $400 per sq ft. At 5 times the cost it will take a incredibly long time for the owner to recover those costs within energy hoard. Building earth friendly buildings is nice but if the owner cannot turn a profit they will not build them.
