Answers:    It would be enormously rare to verbs a typical lock by picking it (whether you knew what you be doing or not).

Does it destroy a lock to push contained by the wrong key and find that the lock does not uncap? Of course not.

If you broke off a tool inside that would be bleak. If it is one of those round keys (used on plentiful toolboxes and computers) then you might seize it turned one step and have it stick where on earth you can't get the push button in.
