Does lighting a clash really get hold of rid of other odors, or does it only overpower them? ...
Answers: The TV show "MythBusters" covered this topic and concluded that the sulfur dioxide produced when burning matches mask the methyl mercaptan found in flatulence and feces.
Basically, your scent receptors are incredibly sensitive to the sulfur dioxide and the amount that is emit from a match concerned of saturates the receptors. This make them temporarily less sensitive, so you can't smell anything else for a while. By that time, the odors enjoy dissipated.
Honey, it doesn't work!!! Whatever smell you are trying to cover up (I'm guessing a fart) won't be overpowered by a match. Get some spray instead!!!!!
