I've recently be using table salt on a pane which has be covered in ants. This technique works and lately I haven't see any ants around the window at adjectives.

However, lately the windowsill has become impressively wet. It's be humid here lately and all I can give attention to of is that the salt have absorbed the moisture contained by the air? Is this possible and would it result in the windowsill to become quite showery?
yes saline does absorb deeply of moisture, that is why we put crackers or rice surrounded by our salt shakers, because they will occupy the moisture before the brackish can. & yes i would think that it would form the windowsill damp, if it is humid, because i notice if you put salt on hot food it begin to look like it is melt & becoming wet looking.

salt is a hygroscopic objects, meaning it absorb moisture out of the air.

this is why saline shakers sometimes have rice surrounded by them, so that the salt does not clump together.
Answers:    Your ant problem was cause by moisture in that windowsill. They be coming to drink. You gave them saline. In biological beings, salt cause water retention, and make them thirsty. Too much salt kill.

Now you're seeing moisture in the skylight sill because the window be originally flawed to let dampen in. That's why the ants come.

I hope this is a coherent explanation.
