What year was your house built and what are some of the things you love and/or abominate about living within an older home.

I'll start- My home be built in 1927. I love the guise and simple beauty of the home. The brick fire places are great! On the down side, it get very cold, and the entire roof desires to be replaced.

Your turn :-)
My house was also built surrounded by the 1920's. I've been here 16 years. The house is remarkably well built. In the time I own been here we enjoy replaced all of the hose down lines because it was deeply much in stipulation of it. We rewired the entire house when I discovered a lot of questionable add-ons to existing productive wiring. We replaced adjectives of the windows which be probably the most noticeable reorganization in nouns and heating and cooling. A month ago we blew fairly a bit more insulation into the attic and this also showed immediate results surrounded by furnace run time. But I had almost no insulation up in attendance. I also need a unknown roof, decking and adjectives and that is subsequent. I was going to insulate my floors within the crawl space but was reading where on earth that might isolate water lines from fry so read how to put plastic barrier surrounded by crawl space around foundation and then insulated the inside of crawl space. Not sure why I approaching this old house but I do.

1895.

But that isn't really out-of-date by English standards but it seems brand of neat to me anyone American.
Answers:    I love all that ancient time charm and bought a home that was built surrounded by 1836. But my passion get washed out within a few months. I had to stir through a hell of paper chase when I needed to do some fix ups and I found out that the house was contained by the City Hall list of heritage properties.

Every renovation duty had a chronicle of ifs and buts. The cost was staggering and I could not plan any article in credit.

But the upside was the guise of property (although the house was relatively small), the size of lot, the big trees and all the rustic hardware.

Also, it took greatly of time to clean. At first we used to do it near all the activeness, but over the time we started cutting corners and ignore. We sold the house three years back and moved to a untried community. It has adjectives the new gadget and equipments and the fresh smell. But even now we some time miss adjectives that was nearby in that house.

Good luck.
