Damp cupboard? we have a cupboard contained by our bedroom that is other damp,...

we have a cupboard contained by our bedroom that is other damp, so discouraging we cant leave anything within there as it grows mould! We enjoy used special paints but that hasnt worked. Its in the corner so have two outside walls, has anyone get any ideas as to how we can combat this.
Answers:    Damp is cause by moisture, this maybe due to any direct penetration through the walls or if the room next to the cupboard is on the ground floor it may be moisture being drawn upwards surrounded by the wall(rising damp). There are lots of things that can cause mushy, from a blocked gutter causing hose down to run down the outside wall, failed sopping proof course, poor pointing, old bricks that enjoy become porous with age,Leaking roof, mortar 'snots' on wall ties, shabby flashing, poor ventilation ect.
Just using a sealer on the inside is not a cure its basically keeping it locked in the wall, a dehumidifier will remove excessive moisture (better than seal the inside)but will not stop the cause . The existing solution is you need to identify where on earth this moisture is comming from before you can effectivly treat it. Have a devout look inside and out and give a bit more info i may know how to offer some other solutions.
I would suggest that you requirement to look at the outer wall and see if it needs pointing and seal. Then look at replacing the plaster and maybe getting some nouns holes in the cupboard. OR only take it bad the wall or dont use it!
